THE FLASHES

The Thirtieth Flash

And the one who has fulfilled all these duties in the most perfect manner is, as can plainly be seen, the Noble Messenger (saw).

Thus, the wisdoms manifested throughout the universe necessitate the prophethood of Muhammad (saw), just as the sun necessitates light, and the light necessitates the day.

Indeed, just as the supreme manifestation of the Names al-Hakam and al-Hakīm necessitates the prophethood of Muhammad (saw) to the highest degree, so too do many other Beautiful Names—such as Allah, ar-Rahmān, ar-Rahīm, al-Wadūd, al-Munim, al-Karīm, al-Jamīl and ar-Rabb—each, through its supreme manifestation in the universe, necessitate his prophethood to the highest degree and with absolute certainty.

For example, the all-encompassing mercy manifested through the Name ar-Rahmān finds its expression in Rahmatan-lil-Ālamīn. And the Divine love and self-disclosure arising from the Name al-Wadūd find their fulfilment and receive their response in Habīb-i Rabbul-Ālamīn.

All forms of beauty that are manifestations of the Divine Name Al-Jamīl —the beauty of the Divine Essence, the Divine Names, Divine artistry, and created beings— are reflected and displayed in the mirror of Muhammad (saw).

Moreover, the manifestations of the majesty of Divine Lordship and the sovereignty of Divinity are made known, seen, understood, and affirmed through the prophethood of Muhammad (saw), the herald of that Divine sovereignty.

Likewise, as these examples illustrate, nearly every one of the Most Beautiful Names of Allah constitutes a shining proof of the prophethood of Muhammad (saw).

In short, since the universe exists and its existence cannot be denied, neither can the realities manifested within it—such as wisdom, care, mercy, beauty, order, balance and adornment—be denied in any way. These realities constitute the colours, ornaments, lights, works of art, life and interconnectedness of the universe.

And since these attributes and acts cannot be denied, neither can the existence of the Necessarily Existent One — al-Hakīm, al-Karīm, ar-Rahīm, al-Jamīl, al-Hakam and al-Adl — Who possesses these attributes and performs these acts.

Likewise, the prophethood of Muhammad (saw) cannot be denied. For he is the greatest guide, the most perfect teacher, the supreme herald, the revealer of the mystery of the universe and the Beloved of the Most Merciful. Through him, the manifestations and perfections of these attributes and acts are made comprehensible. Just as light makes the universe and its reality visible, so his prophethood is the brightest light of the entire universe.
